He knows my name, if my name is known to the king, I will be caught

Sheeda was a simple and innocent man. Today, he was going to his wife's village to bring her back. On the way, he saw some donkeys grazing. Eventually, he reached his brother-in-laws' house. His brother-in-law seated him in the sitting room. Meanwhile, a man came running and said, "Brother! My donkeys are missing. If you've seen them, please let me know."

Sheeda immediately replied, "Yes, I saw some donkeys grazing at such and such place." The man ran off. A little while later, the man returned and said, "You are a great person! The exact place you mentioned is where the donkeys were, and I've found them." Then he left again.

Now, the bread-making began. Since Sheeda was sitting in a room near the kitchen, he could hear the sound of bread being patted.

He started counting the breads by the sound. When the food was served to him, he ate three breads. When he was given a fourth one, he said, "You made a total of seven breads. I've already eaten three. If I eat this one too, what will everyone else eat?"

His brother-in-law looked at him in amazement and said, "You should be in the king's palace right now. The queen's necklace has been lost, and the king has announced a reward for anyone who finds it."

When they reached the king’s palace, Sheeda thought to himself, "If I ask for forty days, I’ll be able to find the necklace." He said to the king, "I will meditate for forty days. After forty days, I will give you the necklace."

For the next forty days, he enjoyed himself in the palace. But on the fortieth day, he became very anxious. He searched for the necklace everywhere but couldn't find it.

Now, he was truly worried. Night had fallen, but sleep had abandoned him. Absentmindedly, he kept mumbling, “Nandra, Nandra” (Nandra meaning ‘sleep, come to me’). Standing nearby was a maid named Nandra, who had actually stolen the necklace. She thought, "He knows my name! Tomorrow he will tell the king and I'll be caught." Nervous, she went to Sheeda, begged for forgiveness, and handed him the necklace.

Sheeda was overjoyed. Quietly, he took the necklace and went to sleep.

The next morning, he gave the necklace to the king. When the king saw it, he was both pleased and amazed. He rewarded Sheeda with a great fortune and sent him off with honor.
